The Los Angeles Times reports that three former managers at a nursing home were arrested in the deaths of three residents and face California nursing home abuse charges.
The State attorney general’s office reported in a criminal complaint that more than 20 residents at a skilled nursing facility were drugged for “staff convenience”. Many of the patients experienced side effects as a result of the drugs.
The three staffers are charged with elder abuse, along with assault with a deadly weapon in this California nursing home abuse and neglect case.

The Ventura Country Star reports that a man and his son were victims in a Fresno drunk driving accident.
The California drunk driving accident occurred when a vehicle that was driving the wrong way on Highway 99 collided with a SUV.
The Fresno drunk driving victim was a passenger in the SUV, he died at the scene of the car accident. An infant in the SUV also died several hours later.
The man accused of causing the Fresno auto accident was charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. The California Highway Patrol reported that his blood alcohol was more than three times the legal limit at the time of the Fresno drunk driving accident.

The Modesto Bee reports that a woman was killed when she was hit by a vehicle in a Modesto car accident.
The California car accident victim was pushing a shopping cart south on Rockefeller Drive when a white Jeep Cherokee crossed over from the Northbound lane and hit her. The victim’s brother was walking with her at the time of the Modesto auto accident.
The victim was treated at the scene of the Modesto auto accident and taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her brother was treated for minor injuries.
The driver was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence.

The Fresno Bee reports that two people were killed in a two-vehicle Fresno auto accident. The head on collision happened when a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road collided with a Ford Escape.
The driver of the Escape suffered major injuries in the Fresno car accident. Two passengers in the vehicle, including a male seven-month-old baby, were killed in the accident.
The California auto accident shut down southbound traffic for nearly three hours on Highway 99.
The driver of the truck that caused the Fresno auto accident was taken to the hospital to be treated. He was also placed under arrest.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a car and two AC Transit buses crashed in the Posey Tube, which connects Alameda to Oakland.
According to an AC Transit spokesperson, the Alameda auto accident happened when a car and a bus collided. The car then hit the other bus. A passenger in the car had to be cut from the vehicle by emergency personnel following the California car accident.
The cause of the Alameda car accident is under investigation.
In compliance with AC transit policy both bus drivers will be tested for alcohol and drugs.
