Firefighters all but concede defeat to raging California fires

admin November 2nd, 2007

The California fires that have been sweeping across the state may have firefighters defeated for the time being. The Santa Ana winds are currently fueling the fire and will continue to do so for the near future, and until the winds die down, the fires will continue to rage.

To date, roughly one million people have fled the affected areas, fearing California fire and burn injuries. The San Diego Fire Captain said, “If it’s this big and blowing with as much wind as it’s got, it’ll go all the way to the ocean before it stops” when referring to the California fires.

So far, there have been at least 45 people injured (many with serious California burn injuries), and several people have died.
