The Merced Sun-Star reports that a woman was killed in a Modesto auto accident. The fatal accident happened on Highway 99. The 21-year-old victim was driving at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle veered off the shoulder, traveled down an embankment and struck a roadway sign before overturning several times. The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident. An Atwater passenger was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
Investigators are looking into whether alcohol played a factor in the Modesto auto accident.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a man was injured in a San Francisco motorcycle accident on the Bay Bridge. The California auto accident happened when a motorcyclist rear-ended a truck.
According to a witness report, the motorcyclist was splitting lanes and rear ended the truck when traffic slowed in the S curve of the Bay Bridge. This is the 42nd San Francisco auto accident in the same area of the bridge since it opened.
The motorcyclist suffered a broken leg in the California motorcycle accident.

The Modesto Bee reports that an act of vandalism was what led to a Modesto auto accident.
A 14-year-old girl was spray painting gang signs on a fence when she was confronted by two woman. The girl tried to attack the women with a baseball bat. She then got into a Kia Spectra driven by a 16-year-old, and drove away. The women then pursued the group of teens in their vehicle.
A police officer saw the Spectra run a stop sign, and pulled the car over. When the officer was out of his vehicle the Spectra sped away. The police officer began pursuing the vehicle, but stopped following the car when he noticed it was driving erratically.
A few minutes later the driver of the Spectra lost control of the vehicle causing a California auto accident. The car flipped over and landed on top of a Denali.
Five people were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries following the Modesto car accident.

The Ventura Country Star reports that a man and his son were victims in a Fresno drunk driving accident.
The California drunk driving accident occurred when a vehicle that was driving the wrong way on Highway 99 collided with a SUV.
The Fresno drunk driving victim was a passenger in the SUV, he died at the scene of the car accident. An infant in the SUV also died several hours later.
The man accused of causing the Fresno auto accident was charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. The California Highway Patrol reported that his blood alcohol was more than three times the legal limit at the time of the Fresno drunk driving accident.
